Visa between the Emirates and Israel is not required

An agreement was signed between Israel and the UAE, which includes a visa-free regime, air travel, mutual assistance in the scientific and technological spheres, as well as ensuring investment security.

Representatives of both states put their signatures on the documents at the Ben Gurion Airport. The signing was attended by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Minister of Finance of the United Arab Emirates Obeida bin Humeida Al Tayer and Chief of the United States Treasury Stephen Mnuchin.

15 September 2020, a peace agreement was concluded in Washington between Israel, Bahrain and the UAE. It follows from the agreements that Israel will not extend sovereignty to the settlements belonging to the Jewish, which are located near the Jordan River. Abu Dhabi and Manama, in turn, agree to the recognition of Israel as a state. The representatives of the countries noted that this is the first historic step towards the complete stabilization of the situation in the Middle East.

In addition to the trilateral agreement, an equally important agreement was reached regarding aviation. The agreement gives permission to make 28 passenger flights within 7 days between the Emirates and Israel and 10 cargo flights within 7 days.

The Aviation Agreement is the first outcome of the peace agreement, the importance of which is difficult to overestimate. Undoubtedly, the agreement will have a positive effect on the development of such industries as trade and tourism, and relations between the countries will only strengthen. According to forecasts, direct flights will start operating in a couple of weeks. But regular flights to the United Arab Emirates by the Israeli airlines Israir and Arkia may begin in 2021.

Vladimir Shklyar, director of the department of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism in Russia and the CIS, said: “The importance of this agreement is very high. After all, Israel opens its doors to a country where tourism is developed at the highest level, and high-level service is the norm. I can safely declare the positive result of cooperation for both countries”.
